done? Within the next 24 hours?" |

Answer:
YES. In most circumstances one of
our illustrators should be able to have your job completed in the
turnover time that you require. As long as we receive your
communication right away and we are able to speak to you during that
time about the progress of the job, we are happy to do your last
minute job for you. Please note however that the job must be of a
standard size in order for it to be completed within 24 hours. Very
large jobs by nature may take longer than 24 hours to complete. |

"Why do you use Paymate and Not PayPal?" |
|
| |
Answer: We Prefer
Paymate over PayPal
because it is more easily integrated into a shopping Cart for
Australian Buyers. With Paymate we are able to sell our art work in
Australian Dollars AUD. Paymate also has the advantage of depositing
funds directly into the sellers bank account within the same
business day. These are the main reasons we choose Paymate rather

"How much does an illustrator usually
charge per hour?" |
|
| |
Answer:
In Australia it is common for an illustrator to charge between $75 -
$200 an hour for illustration work. Things that need to be taken
into consideration are the experience and skill level of the
illustrator, the difficulty of the illustration and the time
required to create it. Illustrators usually charge per artwork and
costs can include the size of the illustration, style, difficulty,
number of elements and time required to complete it. It is typical
for an illustration to cost anywhere between a few hundred dollars
to a few thousand or more, depending on the application type, what
it will be used for (eg: company logo's cost more because they are
going to be used all the time), and number of total images
required. It usually costs extra, (up to 50% more) to buy copyright from the artist.
Our illustrations are regarded intellectual property of the artist
and to purchase that right, or add additional rights on top of that,
will add a considerable amount to the total price of an illustration
or artwork. |

|
| |
"Who owns Copyright for the illustrations
that I paid for?" |
|
| |
Answer: At My Illustration the illustrator
always owns copyright of an artwork, but upon final payment for the
illustration you are actually paying for the license to use the
illustration or artwork for various purposes and under certain
limitations and conditions. We reserve the right to use the
illustration for our own promotional purposes, example: our website
gallery. Your license will cover the use of the artwork for most
standard purposes. Please speak to our illustrator to clarify your
license agreement and copyright restrictions if you are unsure. |

"What is the difference between an
illustration for Print vs. Web?" |
|
| |
Answer: Illustrations that are made for
Print require a higher resolution to maintain their quality with the
most common formats as tiff, eps or press quality pdf's. These are
mainly designed in cmyk format for the four colour printing process.
These files are usually large so that they can be successfully
printed to look Professional. Web images on the other hand require
only a low resolution to be viewed on a screen and are most commonly
gifs or jpegs. These are designed using the rgb colour mode or using
specific hex colours. These are small files so that they can be
downloaded and viewed quickly on the web, but, should never be used
for print as the final product will end up looking terrible. |

"If I want to order more than one
illustration. Will I get a discount?" |
|
| |
Answer: YES.
By purchasing more than one illustration application you will save money on artwork by
buying it in bulk and having it done at the same place. It will also
save you the time and effort of transferring files from one artist
to another. You are able to create your
own custom package deal in the package deals section of our site, just by telling us what illustration
applications you want to combine and we will introduce reductions to
the cost of the total creative process. Generally the more
illustrations you purchase the more of a discount you will receive.
It is a worthwhile way to save money by getting many jobs done at
the same time. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
"How long will my illustration take to
complete?" |
|
| |
Answer: It depends. Some jobs are simpler
than others and therefore take less time. Some examples of these are
small diagrams and business card illustrations. Some applications are cheaper than
others and that is usually because they are less complicated to create
and might take somewhere between a few hours or up to one day to
finish. Other applications such as Storyboards and book
illustrations are much more complicated and therefore require a lot more
work to get finished. These applications typically require a much
larger workload and are therefore priced higher than the others. You
can get an estimate for an illustration application by requesting a
quote, answering a few questions and providing a description. That
way we can give you a closer estimate for time needed for your
illustration job. |

that I am being charged fairly for illustration work?" |
|
| |
Answer: At My
Illustration we always charge you fairly for the artwork that you

artwork is to produce and how much time & experience it will take.
If you are unsure about what you are being charged for please ask us

"What is a
Revision and how does it work?" |
|
| |
Answer:
A Revision is basically a change, used by the client of an
illustrator to make a moderate to large alteration to one of the
elements of a project or the direction of the project. Example: John
has asked us to illustrate a storyboard for his TV commercial. Up
until this point he has asked for a young woman as one of the main
characters of the commercial. At some point John decides that he
would like to have an old man as the main character instead of the
woman. This is a change large enough to be called a Revision. Not
all changes will be regarded as revisions, such as making an element
of a digital image a little bit smaller, etc. It is considered to be a
revision if it is large enough to add considerable time to the
length of the project. We will let you know During a project if a
change you require is considered a Revision or just part of the
normal creative Process. |
